Lush Review: Party Popper

What Lush Says: "This fruity, fizzy party piece is a movable feast of delights. Contains everything you need for a celebration in your own bathtub. Drop a Party Popper cone in your bath and watch it spin into action, as it goes on a spree across your bath spreading colours, fragrance, popping candy and soap confetti.  Softening your bathwater, fragrancing your skin and washing you clean."

What I Found: The Party Popper from Lush's Christmas collection was slightly disappointing. According to the description the ballistic was to contain 'popping candy' and 'confetti'. My ballistic did not contain any of the so called 'popping candy' and the confetti turned out to be tiny worm shaped pieces of soap. The ballistic turned the water pink immediately with tinges of blue and smelt of fruity cocktails. It fizzed away fairly quickly and didn't seem to do much for my skin. Unfortunately, this one will not be making it onto my list of favourites.

Lush Review: You've Been Mangoed

Having only been a recent Lush convert (5 months), I am still on a mission to find my favourite products. So far, I have tried some luxury bath melts, ballistics and bubble bars. I am hoping to try out the body, hair & face products in the near future, but for now I am happy to try out my bath products (most of which were gifts from M).

So let's get started with my first review:

What Lush Says: " Cheery, fruity mango butter melt.  You've been Mangoed is bright and breezy, with nutritious mango and avocado butters to make you skin feel as it has just had a really healthy breakfast and is all set up for the day. It's fruity scent comes from skin toning lemon and lime essential oils, with a drop or two of invigorating lemongrass to get things going."

What I Found: The bath melt has a delicious mango/citrus scent and feels moisturizing on the skin. The melt does not change the water colour and leaves a slightly greasy residue on your hands. Priced at A$8.50 for only 30g, I find it to be a little expensive compared to some of the other melts. Would I purchase this in the future? Maybe for special occasions or when i feel the need to spoil myself!

Outfit of the day

First of all, where has January gone? It only seems like yesterday that we were all celebrating the beginning of the new year (and I started this blog & January's Project 10 Pan), now it's almost the end of January!

Anyway...I'm a bit late with this post, but better late than never I guess!

Last weekend I caught up with my bestie K, at one of our favourite cafes for breakfast and a quick catch up.

What I wore:

Dress: Mink Pink, Neck piece: Lovisa,  Belt: Unknown

Bracelet: Lovisa
Hope you all are having a fabulous week so far!

Kardashian Kollection Intimates

Now I'm not a fan of the Kardashians nor was I the slightest bit interested in having a look when I saw the huge sign advertising the 'Kardashian Kollection' in the Bras n Things shop window a few months ago.

Fast forward to this week... I popped into Bras & Things for a quick squiz on their sale items and was quite surprised to see a few of the Kardashian intimates on sale for a fraction of their RRP. The designs and quality were better than I had expected, so I couldn't resist snapping a few up for myself.

What I found though, is that the cup sizes run a bit bigger than the usual cup size, so this may be a little disappointing for those with a smaller bust. On the upside, the bras are reasonably comfy & definitely a great bargain. How can you not resist these?!

Ruby Woo!

Yesterday I went to my local MAC counter to return my 6 empties for the 'Back to MAC program'. For those not familiar with the Back to MAC program, it basically means I can take back 6 of my empty MAC containers (foundation, blush/eye shadow etc..) in return for a free lipstick. MAC then forwards the empty containers to a waste management facility to recycle or re-use.

However, being a while since my last return of empties, I have just found out that instead of choosing a lipstick of your choice (except limited editions/Viva Glam) from the MAC range - you must now choose off MAC's list of 20 lipsticks, specifically established for the Back to MAC program which is a bit disappointing as I have many of the lippies already on the list!

Anyways...I ended up choosing 'Ruby Woo', which is a Retro Matte Lipstick:

Ruby Woo is quite a bold red, with blue undertones. It is a fairly bright lipstick and definitely makes your lips pop! It lasts a little longer than most MAC lippies I own. The only downside to this product is that being a 'matte' lipstick, it is fairly drying, so I would recommend using a lip balm before applying or after application for a glossy finish.

What does everyone else think of the recent changes to Back to MAC? I for one, am a little disappointed - but hey, I shouldn't complain about getting something for free!

A little splash of blue..

Well that was a blur... another weekend been and gone.

What started of as a beautiful sunny weekend, is now drawing to a close. Yesterday, I caught up with my bestie K for some breakfast at a local cafe. We both brought our fur-babies with us and whilst we enjoyed our meals, the dogs enjoyed a few sneaky scraps.

Breakfast
What I wore:
Dress: Unknown, Neck piece: Colette

Earrings: Colette

Ring: Colette

After breakfast and a mini play date for the dogs, I head back home so M & I could do our weekly shop. Having been a bit slack with exercise and healthy eating over the last few weeks, I have decided to start my fitness regime again tomorrow and with that comes healthy eating. I am quite pleased with our healthy shop yesterday, well mostly healthy apart from the sneaky drumstick ice creams!

M also purchased this ring for me whilst we were out shopping - yes I was a tad spoilt!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend :)

Project 10 Pan - January

In an attempt to de-clutter, I have decided to jump onto the Project 10 Pan bandwagon. For those not familiar with this term, it refers to selecting 10 (or less/more) products (skincare, beauty, hair products) and attempt to finish the product entirely, before buying new products. It basically encourages you to use up the products you currently have, rather than forgetting about them and letting them go bad.

So here's my first ten:

1. Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days - Nutritive Mango Oil Lotion
2. Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
3. Loreal Volume Million Lashes ( I have about 5 different mascara's on the go at the moment, aim to at least finish one this month!)
4. Victoria's Secret Love Addict Body Lotion
5. Napoleon Perdis China Doll Concealer
6. Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
7. Clinique Clarifying Lotion (trial size)
8. Chanel Lipstick - Monte Carlo
9. Dior Lipstick - Rouge Blossom
10. MAC Lipstick - Viva Glam Cyndi

Stay tuned next month for my progress on January's Project 10 Pan!

Wakeboarding

Bright and early this morning we got up to head to the river so M could try his hand at wakeboarding. It looked like awesome fun, but as I am not the strongest of swimmers, I decided to give it a miss this time round and stay safely on the boat. Who knows, maybe one day I'll have the courage to try it for myself!
